Rafting the Taos Box: 17 miles of rapids with whitewater rating of Class 4 plus, 14 - 16". This rafting event depends on snowpack and is best in Spring or if there are heavy rains. Between John Dunn Bridge at the confluence of the the Arroyo Hondo and Rio Grande and Taos Junction Bridge near Orilla Verde Recreation Area with 17 miles of rafting fun. Best April 1 to July 15.
Rafting the Racecourse: Class 2 and 3 rapids. Great for families. 12 - 16 inches. Best April 1 to Sept 30. Most exciting in Spring for faster adventures. Summer trips are slower with some fun shoots and great swimming.
Rafting the Rio Chama: One of America's most beautiful wild and scenic rivers. Beautiful views of majestic cliffs layered like Neopolitan Ice Cream. Excellent family outing. Rio Chama is controlled by the dam at El Vado Reservoir. It is a 10 mile run through exquisite peaceful settings, Christ in the Desert Monastery, pastures and mountains and ending in the Abiquiu Reservoir.
